I have been very blessed throughout my lifetime. I honestly cannot begin to list everything that led me to who I am today. I certainly have amazing friends and family whom have been there stride for stride on my journey thus far. Today, I want to write about what matters most in life to me. I hope that these next few minutes inspire you to truly consider your priorities and focus in life.
Life to me is a beautiful thing. Every day presents itself with new challenges and opportunities to better oneself through faith, learning, and the connections made with those around you. Each day is a gift-one that we often take for granted and allow to slip by without recompense. I am the first to admit that I do not live in the moment daily. I battle technology daily and spend too much time looking for the next duck call online.
On May 11th, 2018, the pinnacle married life events occurred when my wife and I welcomed our first-born son, William, into the world. The surprise gender reveal made for an even more memorable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend that surprise to anyone!
Holding William for the first time opened my eyes to my true purpose in life and filled my heart with an unsurpassable and indescribable love. Lacey and I are truly blessed to be chosen to be his parents. We are thankful for the moments when we get to see his cheerful smile and hear his playful laugh. Life as a parent has helped me live more in the moment and to hold onto time just a little longer. I soak up every minute of family life before and after work. My anticipation builds as my workdays end and I return home to his smile.
Our journey as a parent is only going to become more adventurous as he grows! I look forward to the memories made as a family and with friends. I cannot wait for William’s first trip to the duck blind or him catching fish on grandpa’s boat. My family and I have a bright future ahead of us as we turn the page of another day and continue writing our journey together.
I hope my new experiences resonate in some way with you and your life. I feel that it is too easy to fill our voids with thoughts and things that only leave us empty. This is when you need to sit down and think about what matters most in life. You will realize how truly blessed you are and renew your focus. Honestly, writing this benefited myself in the matter and I hope it does you. I challenge you to spend just five minutes of your day today in thought of what matters most in your life and give a concerted effort develop a plan to align your priorities. We only get one go around with this thing they call life-make the most of it for each day is a gift and not a guarantee!
